For the last time...

This year's race will be similar to last year's as it will be a point based race. You need to keep in mind that even if you finish first that does not necessarily mean that you will win. We will begin registration at 3pm on May 31st at Anne Morrison park next to the fountain. The race will begin promptly at 4:30 pm. After you have registered you will receive a spoke card and a manifest but remember, you will not be allowed to open your manifest until the race begins. On the manifest will be between 8-15 different places through out town that you will need to ride to and accomplish a specific task. Last year these tasks varied from hula hooping to answering trivia question(s). It is up to you to figure out the most paramount route for yourself or your team. After you arrive at a stop and you complete that task set before you the person running the stop will sign off on your manifest. When you have completed the manifest you will ride like the wind to the finish line where your points will be added up and do not forget that the order that you come in will also determine the winner(s) so it is important to keep speed in mind . You will need to put your name on your manifest. Last year we had 9 manifests turned in with out names and those manifests were disqualified. If you have a hard time remembering your name make sure you have someone fill that part out for you. The finish line has yet to be determined but we will let you know before hand so that you can have your buddies waiting for you at the end. Most likely it will be a place where there is beer. There will be two categories for D&P 3, a grouping for geared bikes and for cruisers. In the past we have tried to have another class for fixed gear but we have not had enough interest to make that work yet. If you have any questions please contact us at dirtyandpinkaleycat@gmail.com or post here!

Huh? It always changes...

Well, now the weather folks think it will be in the mid 70's... lets wait a few days and see what happens...

god hates me

I do not know if god really hates me... I do not even believe in a christian god but I prayed and prayed for cool weather this year for Dirty and Pink and it did not work as well as I would have liked. It will not be as hot as the first year, it was a high of 107 that day and you can ask around, when I came into the finish line my face was so red I was not allowed to have beer until I stood in front of a fan that misted water for a good 15 minutes. I protested a bit, after all I had just had a screamin' win but the guys were right, I need to cool off. Last year we moved the race up an entire month hoping for cooler weather and it was 95 degrees... so it was cooler. I guess maybe god does not hate me but it is going to be warm. Here is a link to the weather channel for the predictions of that day. HOT WEATHER Basically, all week it will be in the lofty 70's and the day you ladies put on your racing shoes it will be in the high 80's. PLEASE hydrate yourselves. There will be plenty of time for adult beverages after and during the race so take the morning to drink plenty of water.

HOW TO PROPERLY HYDRATEBring sunscreen, we want your faces rosey with excitement, not scarlet with burn and tattoos hate being burnt so make sure to cover them too!

Today's Trivia

Can anyone tell me why it is called "Dirty AND Pink" and not "Dirty IN Pink" first right answer gets dibs on their spoke card number... dirtyandpinkalleycat@gmail.com or better yet, post it here!

all three

More Clarifications

What ever happened to unbridled imagination... to clarify, the part of the blog that says "things to look forward to" is an implication of business and folks that are going to give up some of their goodies for prizes. Here are some more.

The Boise Weekly was Weak.

It is always better to check your facts... to clear up the confusion... Dirty and Pink will still be held on May 31st, that is twelve days from today. It is also the 3rd Dirty and Pink, not the second and we will be meeting at the Anne Morrison Park fountain. Registration will begin at 3 p.m. The race will start at 4:30 p.m. Please bring a pen, a lock, a bike, if you like water some of that, and costumes and the color pink are encouraged. The artist who does the flyers and spoke cards for D&P will also be hanging around selling t-shirts. You can check out his other digs at Test Tube Kitty

Addendum

This year there will be two manifests, one for geared/fixed/single bikes and another one for the cruisers. I have all the respect in the world for the ladies that ride one of those 50 pounders around and this year we decided that the gals on cruisers will have a manifest that is more friendly to that type of bike. It will still be a point based deal and both categories will have cross-over stops. I want to remind you that costumes are encouraged and the most important aspect of the Dirty and Pink is ladies on their bikes having fun! Let me know if you have any questions! dirtyandpinkalleycat@gmail.com
